Moonstone begins publishing original Phantom stories in the US.

Paramount releases The Phantom, a feature film based on Lee Falk’s creation, starring Billy Zane as Kit Walker and Kristy Swanson as Diana Palmer.

Phantom 2040, an animated TV series posited a 24th Phantom in the year 2040. It ran for 2 seasons starting in 1994, for a combined 35 episodes. It was released on VHS, spawned a video game, and a 4-issue series by Marvel.
